A sad day for music and film/tv fans everywhere. If you wondering why I say this or want more info, here's the link:

As a side note, I just recently purchased the SACD disc, "The Film Music of Gerry Goldsmith" that's out on Telarc. It features Goldsmith conducting the London Symphony Orchestra on some of his greatest "hits". It's a really impressive sounding disc. Definitely worth checking out...

A very sad day indeed. Who among us (that are old enough to remember the show, whether we liked it or not) doesn't, at the very least, recall the theme music of The Walton's? Practically an American cultural icon, in and of itself. I still get goosebumps when the newly refitted U.S.S. Enterprise begins to power up in preparation to leave it's dry-dock birth, as the music builds to a crescendo and the great and beautiful starship, ever so slowly, slides out and into space once again, in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. The Man and his talent will be missed, yet what a legacy he leaves behind with us. Gone, but never forgotten.
