I want to clarify to you all what I previously stated. The 1050 is at the top of the list. I can get the 2802 from a local authorized dealer for $679, about $130 more than the 1050. I believe it does make it competitive. I'm just saying that maybe the 1050 has "lost a step". Everyone else is starting to catch up, and since many of the larger companies go through quicker iterations with their product lines, some of the value may be squeaking away. Also, I don't want to but a 1050 in a couple of months and find out this fall that Outlaw is producing a new receiver with the added features I am looking for. Ah, I'll probably just get the 1050 anyway.

The 1050's have been holding their re-sale value pretty well lately. If that does happen, you could always grumble unkind words to the handful of people at some other forums who whined so much that Outlaw muffled their "upcoming product" news and re-sell it for much of what you paid for it. It's not really a great solution, but it's worth keeping in mind. For the record, I agree that the arrival of DPL2 and DTS-ES on a number of sub-$1000 receivers is causing the 1050 to show its age a bit, but I just get the impression it'll be 2003 or so before a replacement arrives -- and in the meanwhile, the 1050 will certainly remain a very solid performer.
