Hi Gonk,

My DVD player does not have progressive scan, although it does have component outputs. It's a cheapo Sony (a couple hundred bucs two or three years ago). My TV does, however, have 3:2 pulldown. That said, whenever I watch something from the same DVD player that is not in full mode, I get the artifacting. I'm assuming that the artifacting is there in full mode as well, just a lot less noticable.

I guess my main question is this: does it make sense that I see this from cable and DVDs such as The Simpsons? When I watch something in HD, or a DVD like The 5th Element or LOTR, I don't see a thing.

If you are seeing the artifacts when watching cable TV but not when watching material that the TV's 3:2 pulldown is applied to (anamorphic video or HDTV), then that sounds like an issue with the TV, not chroma bug in the DVD player. Some of the local HDTV wizs might have some thoughts as to the origin of this particular artifacting.

I don't own any Outlaw power amps, but I think that my Outlaw ICBM and Oulaw interconnects go really well with my two pairs of Acoustat electrostatic speakers.

Oh, yeah! Marge is SO hot when viewed in HD.
