Does anyone have any experience with this DVD player. I have been looking for a universal player but most are well above $500. This one comes out at $175; is it too good to be true?

There's a review page for it at AudioReview, where it has a 4.33 rating. The oldest review is probably the most useful, as it compares the DV563 to Pioneer's 45A (the newest review gives it five stars in part because it doesn't turn ejected discs into projectiles -- it's all about our personal level of need, I guess ). According to the reviews, it lacks a few features (no way to disable the video circuits while playing back DVD-A or SACD discs, rudimentary progressive scan features) and it may sound a little harsher on DVD-A/SACD than some players. It doesn't sound like a complete disaster. Might be worthwhile, at least until the universal players really come into their own.
