The raw output device is single pitch, but this is the nature of discrete digital devices. There are some paybacks in not being forced to convert to analog and drive an inherently non-linear device. As the scalers get more and more CPU (GPU, DSP, whatever you want to call it) horsepower things should keep getting better. Once the HD-DVD format is established I'll probably search for a display that matches that native resolution (or the most popular, defacto standard, whatever) and go for that.
DLP has always looked more like film to me, for whatever reason, so if you like movies give it a good look.
