I am debating my set up as I upgrade my center and rear channels speakers. I never worried about long speaker runs before, but now I will be using 4 full range speakers for the front and rear. SO many people use a 2 channel amp for the surrounds, I wondered where everyone places the 2 channel amp. front or rear of the room. I have a preference for long interconnect and short speaker wire when possible (if the situation forces me to do one or both). That will mean getting another 2 channel amp for the rear and sitting it in back of my room. I will only need one channel of my 3 channel amp for the center until I go to 7 speakers which may be never in my room.

I use a 2 channel amp for the rear surrounds. It is located near the right rear surround speaker and has a moderately long interconnnect to my Outlaw Audio ICBM. This amp has a short run of speaker wire to the right rear speaker and a longer run to the left rear speaker, but beings the speaker wire is 10 gauge, I am not concerned.

I picked up a long pair of interconnects today and I am going that route. Probably end up buying an Outlaw 200 for center channels.
