As you all might know by now but Fred Rogers passed on last night.
I am 33 and he was a part of my childhood and has become a part of my 2 daughters lives to. It hard to believe that there could be anyone more giving and innocent. He spent his entire life hoping to only make kids lives better in some way or another! Although I haven't visited the "neighborhood" in a long time, his caring soul is etched in my memory forever.
Goodbye Mister Rogers.....Thank You.

It's a sad day in my neighborhood also. I'm 26 and Mr. Rodgers was a large part of my childhood. I too will miss him.

He spoke at one of my ex-girlfriend's graduation, and it was an incredibly moving speech. The man was a class act all the way; one of the few celebrity passings I've heard that's truly made me sad.

When I was little (I’m 24 now), I lived and breathed by his show. He was there showing you ideas and concepts with the caring and sincerity that your mother or father would have. He didn’t do it in a flashy or loud style. He did it the best way, his way. He brought children’s television to a new level.

This is the kind of sadness I felt when Jim Henson died suddenly years ago.

Jshorr:

While using the newspaper (for what us doggies do -- or os that doo-doo?) this morning, I saw in a story that someone from PBS said that the three days where they had the largest number of incoming phone calls was the day Jim Henson dies, when Shari Lewis died, and of course, yesterday when Mr. Rogers died. Interesting.

But what do I know, I'm only a dog>

Sniff, sniff, cries Iggy
