My daughter has one of these. Looks as if the amp is burned out. Constant humming, plugged in or not plugged into Receiver.
Any suggestion on a replacement amp (not wanting to deal with AV123 )

There is a Dayton (Parts Express) plate amp that folks have been using a bit lately. It doesn't have as much power as the various iterations of original amps, but it was used as the warranty replacement by AV123 for a while. The amp that is recommended is this SA240-B unit. There's some discussion of it in this AVS thread.

AV123 has closed down their forum temporarily and are purging their database (except for PM's) before re-opening it, so the AV123 link above is now officially worthless. The PartsExpress and AVS threads are safe from the purge, though.

I recieved an E mail from them today announcing their new Generation 2 Sub.

They state they are offering ,a new direction with new people and new products.

Don't think I will be the first to rush over to AV123 and find out just what type of new direction they are taking

Mark is no longer president, but he is still going to be acting as a designer (assuming Colorado doesn't lock him in jail for felony fraud)...

I don't know that they've made any official statement of who the new president might be.

I've got one sitting in the box fresh from amp replacement. I ended up replacing it while it was back at AV123 for repair, and I haven't even gotten around to opening it up after I got it back. (It was a fairly painful process, and I decided it was time to just move on) If you're interested, I'd let it go for a good price.

I haven't been on the forum for quite awhile. If this is considered inappropriate in any way, please remove this post and accept my apologies

After much searching on the amp replacement / fix for the ULW 10, I found a site that addresses the specific problem with Rockets plate map. Seems these guys are replacing the capacitors , a cheap alternative to a dayton amp. Hopefully this link works.
