Amp for Sonus Faber Concertino Domus - 05/19/08 09:04 PM

I have just got a pair of Sonus Faber Concertino Domus. Now I'm looking for an integrated amp to drive them with and replace my Cambridge Audio 640A, which served me very well, but I believe is not too happy with the 4 ohms load of the Concertinos; feels overwhelmed in the bass deparment, falling short in the tightness department.
What do you think will be a good match?
Any of you owning SFCD? What are you driving them with? I don't intend to add a sub, I believe there is enough bass in there, only the Cambridge doesn't deliver it tight enough for my taste.
This goes for a music only system, no HT duty for them.

Thank you very much,
Alex

Cayin makes some tube integrated amps, as does Prima Luna.

The SF seem pretty hard on the amp. They are 4 ohms with 88dB efficiency (or lack of) and rolled off highs.
Would tubes be the right choice under these circumstances?

Probably not, or at least you'd need a pretty powerful tube amp.
