MX-700 / Bluetooth needed - 02/17/08 09:19 PM

I have a MX-700 Universal Remote and am looking to consolidate a bluetooth Sony PS3 remote. I havn't purchased the Sony PS3 remote as I'm currently using the joystick to control my Blue-Ray movies. Trying to avoid having another remote. Does anyone know of a solution like the MX-700 that works with both technologies. Incorporating RF would be a bonus.

Here are a few links to see some options. I haven't tried any of them yet...

Good set of links there, Oy. It's a more in-depth source than I've seen previously. The bottom line seems to remain that you need to stay with IR in order to control the PS3 with a universal remote. The Nyko still looks like one of the best choices, which could then be pretty easily integrated with a remote like the MX-700.

The good thing about the Schmarts is that one model can control the PS3 On/Off.

I've seen another device to control the PS3, but am not sure where the website is any more.

BTW, is it ok to post links to other forums in the Outlaw forum, or was that bad etiquette?

It's fine to post links like that.

For those interested, I found the following link for an IR to bluetooth converter for the PS3:

http://ir2bt.com/forum/

This sounds like the one we've been waiting for. It has all of the functions of the PS3 remote, including On-Off and a file for the MX-700 has already been created.

I just found another option:

I still haven't tried any of the options. Has anyone else?
