Outlaw 2200's with Axiom M80's? - 11/23/06 11:41 AM

I have been enjoying my new 990/7125 for a little more than a month and I am delighted with my decision which was encouraged by many hours of reading on these forums. I have also been auditioning Axiom Audio M22, VP150 and (4) QS8 speakers which, together with the Outlaw separates, an LFM-1 and an LFM-2 have been incredibly impressive. Particularly since this is an upgrade from a ten year old Pioneer DD AVR and a fifteen year old Bose/Polk surround speaker system.

I have however, decided to replace the Axiom M22 bookshelf speakers with Axiom’s M80v2 floor standing speakers. The M80's are highly efficient 4 Ohm towers. My question to the knowledgeable and experienced is, would there be a discernable/significant improvement if I were to use a pair of Outlaw 2200’s to power the M80s instead of the 7125? If so, would you advise that I get a third 2200 for my center channel VP150?

Thanks!

The M80's are pretty efficient and at 4 ohms the 7125 can push about 190 watts. There are some Axiom owners scattered around here who can probably offer specific feedback about the M80 with both the 7125 and some of the 200W amps (770/755, M200/2200, and 7700/7500/7200). If I had to guess, I'd suspect the impact would be subtle.
