I have been having some technical problems with my Samsung DLP for about 2 months now. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=428777&perpage=20&pagenumber=43 Techs have been out three times and replaced engines, digital boards, etc.After several tests, they deemed it unrepairable.

Well...Samsung said they would replace the set about a month ago. Thay said it would take about two weeks and I have not heard from them until yesterday.

Tracy called me and said that they were out of stock of my HLP5685 and would have to replace it with the newer HLR5688 2005 model http://www.audioholics.com/ces/CESdisplays/SamsungHLR5688W1080pDLP.php ......with 1080p native resolution....and retails for $$5000.00!!!! She asked if this would be ok....OK?!!! Is it ok? Ummm...let me think about thatYES!!!

How about that? A 5K replacement for no charge for a 4k Tv I bought in Dec. 04. and was wishing I had waited for these new sets anyway for the 1080p. My luck is changing just in time for my birthday. Samsung rocks!
