perform the "Front Panel" reset as outlined in your Owner's Manual - 07/10/07 09:48 AM

Hello! I just performed the new software upgrade last night and see this should be done. My manual is still packed in a box from moving. Would someone be so kind as to tell me how to do this final step? perform the "Front Panel" reset as outlined in your Model 1070 Owner's Manual.
Thanks,
Tom

Here you go - straight from page 49 of the 1070's manual.
Quote:
To perform a system reset:
  1. Turn the rear-panel MAIN POWER switch on. The Standby /On indicator on the front panel will glow amber.
  2. Turn on the Model 1070 by pressing any of the input source buttons.
  3. Press the Menu and Mute buttons on the front panel at the same time.
“PRESS (1) TO LOAD DEFAULT” appears in the front-panel display.
  4. Release the the Menu and Mute buttons.
  5. Within five seconds, press the 1 button on the remote control.
“OUTLAW AUDIO/MODEL 1070” appears briefly to indicate that the unit has been reset. The unit will then return to normal operation.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Gonk, I appreciate it! I was wondering, is this step really necessary? Everything seems to work normally and I still have all my old settings. I will do the reset to make sure but just wondering.
Thanks,
Tom

I don't know if it's necessary or not. It may be a safety precaution to make sure everything is in order after the firmware changes. If you do the reset (assuming you haven't already), I'd suggest taking a couple minutes to jot down your existing settings for the inputs, distances, bass management, speaker trims, and surround configuration. It's useful stuff to have tucked away somewhere (maybe in a text file on your PC or a sheet of paper tucked somewhat out of the way).
