New Pioneer AV Receiver/Amp - 03/01/08 01:57 AM

I love my 990 and 7125, but what do you guys think about this new Pioneer model?

"In order to create a receiver that handles both digital processing and the powerful amplification needed, the SC-09TX was compartmentalized using a Separated Power Block Design. Isolated blocks for analog, digital, audio and video signals prevent internal interference, insulates the components to drive enough power without hindering sound quality. It’s inside these chambers where the secrets to sonic bliss lie.

The SC-09TX’s Direct Energy HD amplifier acts as the driving force for the unit. The quest to power up to 10 channels of audio led to Bang & Olufsen’s ICEpower® analog class-D amplification technology. Highly energy efficient with nearly lossless power, and light enough for a home receiver, the Direct Energy HD amplifier easily handles 1400 watts across all its audio channels."

Impressive looking. Digital amplification continues to make good progress, it seems, but I didn't see a price tag for it - if it's in the range that I think it is, it ends up where I would prefer to buy two boxes once so that I can just replace one (the processor) when technology marches on.

I did find the price listed in the Press Release. It's got an MSRP of $7000.
But it also has like 6 HDMI v1.3 inputs and 2 outputs.
