Do I have the latest firmware?

I just pressed enter and input and this came up on the lcd: 3.07 04 Is this the latest software for the 990? If not, what does the upgrade do for me?

Version 3.11 is the latest according to the support page:

Sorry, I have no idea what the newer firmware will offer to you. Someone else will have to answer that question.

The current firmware (3.11) offers some bass management fixes, tweaks Pro Logic II/IIx performance, refines the way that the "SYNC" button functions, changes the way the surround buttons work, and does a few other things covered in my firmware update notes .

is it safe to assume that Outlaw Audio will probably never release anymore firmware updates to the 990? since the new pre amp is coming out soon?

I spoke with Scott about a week ago about the lingering bass management issues with the 990, and he confirmed that a firmware update is being tested and will be released when it's ready. He sounded confident that the recent testing has been successful and that it would address this issue, perhaps among others.

This may be an easy question to answer, but I was wondering in general, if a 990 has firmware version 3.11, does that also mean it has all the preceding firmware updates rolled into it?

Yes, it does. The firmware update is a complete replacement of previous firmware.
