HDCP Compliance

HDCP Compliance - 08/05/07 07:12 PM

I would like to purchase a 990 Prepro soon, however I am unsure how (or if) DVI works compared to HDMI. I don't really care about the audio portion of HDMI, but I do want to make sure that DVI will work with the newest HDMI projectors/displays.

Obviously both formats are digital, and should be compatible laugh especially since companies like Outlaw sell DVI to HDMI cables & adapters. But are there any issues I should be aware of? Should I wait for a 990 replacement?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

All you need is DVI-to-HDMI cables or adapters and you're good to go. I use the 990 with a DVI-HDCP display and have used it with a couple of different HDMI and DVI source components (non-HDCP OPPO Digital OPDV971H, DVI-HDCP Pace Micro DC-550 HD digital cable box, OPPO Digital DV-981HD, OPPO Digital DV-980H, and Toshiba HD-A2). The DVI switching is fully HDCP compliant.
