Ordered the 950 Today - How will it sound with...

Hooked into a Mesa/Boogie Strategy 400 tube amp? All 12 main tubes replaced with matched 6L6's to take out the guitar tone quality and give it more all around performance. I know this sounds unorthadox, but it does sound good and can drive the speakes beyond my needs.

Yeah, I know this is not the latest stuff.

The rears are going through a Phase Linear 400. So/So as far as I am concerned.

The speakers are 25 years old but have been updated with new drivers and membranes. They are ESS AMT3's. All 4 have a Heil 360 degree ribbon tweeter, a 6.5 inch mid range and twin 10 woofers.

I wouldn't expect many responses. I'm sure you'll find very few folks on this board who even know what type of speakers your talking about...forget about the amp

Yeah, I guess you're right. Although this is a Professional Amplifier, it was still made to be used in a home system. Most people don't know this and it was not commonly done. Here is more information. I think the section that talks about tubes vs. transitor is very interesting.
