When I play a CD, the volume is about -25 dB to -20 dB. However, when a DVD is played, the volume should be around -10 dB to 0 dB (to get the same loudness). Could you check if your 950 does the same? Thank you.

Yeah, it does that. Not all sources come in at the same volume. DVDs, in particular, are usually mixed lower to allow for the greater dynamic range necessary for explosions and stuff.

Some processors have an option to equalize all the different source volumes; the 950 does not. So it's usually necessary to adjust the volume when changing sources.
