I set up a macro today, but now I can't get the remote to turn my 950 Off. When I select source "aud" and hit power, the "sat" and orange LED light up. Is this normal? I tried to reset the remote by pressing the "TV" and "light" button simultaneuosly, but it didn't clear. I got the flashing confirmation like everything was cleared but it still works on all my equipment. Is this normal?

I'm pretty sure I saved something weird to my 950 'power' button when first attempting macros.. Gone off Christmas shopping since then no time to go back to macros. But since I had spent an hour using learning funtion for a whole lot of buttons on the the 950 for each source, I got desperate for a min. thinking I had to clear the whole thing and start over. I realized the problem was the 'power' button so used whatevers in the manual to 'unlearn' that one button, everything else went back to normal. I never had to clear the whole thing back to factory. And this worked. See if you can find your problem button first and try clearing it alone.

When you program a macro, you have to use the Mute button as the Power button during the programming, otherwise you change the power button's feature. Just follow the instructions to delete a button's programing (Aud + Select pick Power pick the Down Channel press Aud ... if memory serves) and you are back in business.

I don't think you can change the Power button's functionality and if you follow the instructions on page 40 of the manual you will be using the Power button instead of the mute button (incorrect). The rest of the instructions are correct.

Actually, you can change the power button's function -- it's an extra macro button, and can be programmed to do other things just like the M1 through M4 buttons can.

I have two DVD players now. How do I get the remote to work for both of them.

The SL-9000 manual has instructions on how to set up a device like VCR or AUX to control a different type of device (like a DVD player) -- so you can control one of the DVD players from the DVD device and one from some other device.

What do you think of the ProntoNEO? The Outlaw remote is nice, but I think I need something a little more flexible.

I hate LCD remotes like the Pronto. You have to look at them to use them. Give me good ol' buttons any day of the week.
