I'm very close to buying a receiver (Finally) . I've narrowed my choices to mainly 2. One is the 1050 and the other is the NAD T571. Can anyone compare these in terms of only sound quality? The last thing I want is a bright receiver and I've heard a few on here state that the 1050 can be too bright at times. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Being a Nad fan(I own 1 of their amps)I cannot say anything bad about them. As far as brightness my experience has been that the speakers are the 1st culprit and that an receiver just accent that brightness. I run Paradigm and don't think it is at all bright, keep in mind that it has been a while since I haven't used my amps but still. I find though the british speakers lean bright and that may be what starts it. What speakers do you plan to run?
As far as the 751 it is only 5.1 so keep that in mind, the 761 is 6.1 and is closer to $700+. Rumor has it that NAD is going to release a new receiver but I haven't heard much more about them or when.

Hope that helps some others with different makes of speakers will chime in to.

The speakers I'm leaning toward right now are PSB Image 4T's. And all PSB to complete the HT setup.
