I love this post site! Only 2 days until I get to hook up my 1050. (Xmas present from wife. she loves me!) Now for a VCR question. I still have lots of VCR tapes. When I hook up the sub, will the LFE subwoofer cable work when I play my VCR or do I need to hook up all those speaker wires? What can I expect?
Thanks

If you are using a surround mode (assuming you skip the "DSP modes" like "Jazz" and such, that means you'll be using Dolby Pro-Logic decoding) when using the VCR, then the bass management will be in operation and will behave the same way as it would with a DVD -- the LFE to the sub, plus whatever bass is re-directed from speakers set to "small" (surrounds, center, and probably even your main speakers). I'm not as sure about what the 1050 does when surround is off, since I've been living without a sub (one of these days that'll change...). I'm 90+% sure that the bass management will still apply, and the low freq from the mains will be re-directed to the sub. I glanced in the manual and didn't find anything that confirmed this for me for certain, but there may be something there that I missed.

I'm not sure if that really answers your question or not ("how can I confuse you today?" -- a favorite saying of one of my coworkers). Have you got any more questions? BTW, have fun with the 1050!

That answers my question. Thanks! I sure didn't want to mess with those wires. Also only 30 more hours til I can hook up the 1050. Off Sun and Mon. Ain't moving away from the outlaw. (I'm having a porta potty placed in the living room!)
Life will be GOOD!!!!!
