Got my 1050 on tuesday, and I'm clearing a place for it right now. My question is: Can I put my DVD player on top of it? I've noticed that the top of the 1050 is pretty open, probably to let the heat out. If I put anything over this, is there a danger of the 1050 overheating (or the DVD for that matter). My DVD player has «standard» feet, so there would be maybe a 1/2" clearance, which ain't much.

I couldn't find any clearance indication in the manual or through the search function.

My advice--Leave as much room as possible for the equipment to breathe. Heat is the worst enemy of electronic components!

The top of the 1050 needs lots of room to breathe on top. I'd leave a couple inches clear (at least an inch or more).

A frying pan... or maybe a tea kettle... but if it wer me, I'd leave at least 5cm of breathing room. My 1050 gets fairly warm. On the up-side, my natural gas bill is a lot lower now.

Defenitely no...It (as well as many receivers) need air space to keep cool.

I know my DVD player (Panasonic A110) gets fairly warm after watching movies, so that in itseld would cause more potential overheating problems.
