impression of m200 - 05/20/05 10:17 PM

I got my amps yesterday. Like a little kid, forgot how long a day I'd put in at work, and went about hooking them up. Don't need the manual, very intuitive. I disconnected my mains from the B&K amp and played some music. I don't really know how to describe the difference. I have heard people say 'sounds warmer' don't know how that really applies to mechanical, all I know is I really like the sound of my Polks, its just different somehow.
I am using the music sense switch, it doesn't lag at all. As soon as a track starts, it actually surprised me hoe quickly it responded.
I have had them running now for about 4 hours. They are cool to the touch, my B&K is very warm after a few minutes.
I have been a lurker here for a year, I am glad I finally took the step.

Its great to hear about your new purchase. I had sent my ADCOM amp to be serviced for the third time in 3 months and got so sick of it that I bought 5 M200s. When I finally got my ADCOM back I didn't want to plug it back in. My main speakers are Dynaudios and the M200s have so much power that my speakers thanked me! I sold the ADCOM and will keep the Outlaws for a long time. They are stacked five high (in plain view, I'm kinda proud of them!) and never get hot. I keep them in music mode as well. Ain't life great?

I've got 3 of these so far and love them. They can rock my Ascend 340's all day and never get above barely warm. My wife and I are currently building a house which will have a dedicated theater, so 4 more of these are in my near future.

Thanks for all the responces. I can tell you now after a couple of days of use, I think the B&K amp I have sounds better now, not having to drive 5 channels. Its doing the rears and center now.
