RR 2150 Fried by Lightning - 07/17/16 10:24 AM
Our house was struck by lightning on Friday. My 2150 which I have had since it was first made ( I was on the original waiting list) was fried. Will not even power on and smells like burnt electrical. I have filed an insurance claim but they will want verification that it was lightning damage. Should I send it back to Outlaw or take to a local audio repair? I need a new one ASAP!

Open it up and take a photo of the scorched bits. Won't the insurance accept that?

I hope so but they don't work the weekends. So, I won't know until I talk to them tomorrow.

Make your insurance company send out an adjuster to verify the lightning damage. Any local repair shop should be able to verify the damage and give you some proof.

Good news, they gave me full replacement cost, no questions asked. Not so lucky on my Shanling CD 3000. It has to be assessed for repairs. If not repairable, I get full replacement cost.
