I am thinking of buying the Samsung LN46C630 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV. see the specs at:

Samsung TV

is there a way i can hook this TV up to my 2150 in some manner to at least use my 2 speaker set-up? can i hook it into the usb port or is there a way that RCA cables can connect into a usb or the HDMI or even the PC hook-up. this would just be a temporary fix until i get the surround-sound receiver set-up in place, but since my 2150 and speakers are already in the living room, i thought i could use it temporarily with the HD TV.

i will also have a PS3 hooked up directly to the HD TV, along with a typical time-warner HD cable box. perhaps i can hook the 2150 to the cable box for the audio?

any help here?

thanks!

i think i just answered this question for myself. the samsung website has more input information and it states the samsung does 2 composite AV inputs, so this should work.

If you need to feed audio out from the TV (for the onboard tuner, for example) there is a stereo analog output beneath the TV's network port that can be used to connect to the RR2150, but I'd only use it if you need audio out from the TV for some reason. I would recommend connecting your sources' audio outputs to the RR2150, with their video outputs connected to the TV. Both the PS3 and the HD cable box have stereo analog outputs that can connect to any input on the RR2150 except the phono input.

ok, so i have this set-up hooked up and have had it in place for about a month. i must say i am extremely pleased with the sound, even though i only have the 2-channel speaker set-up in place. the speakers in the tv really do nothing soundwise, but 2150 and my monitor speakers really make it nice. now i am considering the new M8 subwoofer to help it out even more - at least until i have a separate room for a 7.1 system. smile

The addition of the sub will make the system really shine. Go for it!!

What Xenon Man said…and if you get it, please report back. Can't wait to hear more about the M8. Word of its existence brought me back to the Saloon.
