I use my DVD player as a CD player and is connected via coax to the 950. After I am done watching a DVD using Dolby Digital or DTS and I play a cd, the 950 defaults the sound processing to PLII-C.

Is there a way to change that to default to Stereo or whatever I want? I know about forcing the 950 to use whatever selection depending on the input. But this would not work since my DVD player acts as a CD player as well. Thanks.

Here's a trick I use to do the same thing: I have the AUX1 input set to use the same digital input as the DVD input (optical1 in my case). AUX1 is set to stereo for two-channel signals, while DVD is set to apply PLII. I created a macro (M3 when I used the 950's remote, I think) that would change the 950's source input to AUX1 -- so that when I was operating the DVD player, I could hit M3 and the 950 would switch to AUX1, giving me the same digital source but in stereo. Since AUX1 is an audio-only input, the video switching stayed with the DVD input, which is sort of a nice bonus if your player has any sort of useful OSD when playing CD's.
